Investment Philosophy
Our investment philosophy at Strategic Analysis is to focus our effort on the determination
of that elusive thing called value. In times of uncertainty--which seems to be almost
any time one can mention--the first goal of our investment strategy is the integrity
of our clients assets. One can always find new opportunities; but it is much harder
to recover lost capital. In my long experience in this business, the greatest regret
that all clients most vividly recall is the failure to respect that principle.
To this end, the experienced staff at Strategic Analysis, examine many hundreds
of companies to find those that meet our stringent criteria. We place a central
emphasis on the corporate balance sheet and we seek companies that show an ability
to generate value for their investors.
We are highly objective in our analysis, and while we prefer to find companies in
which our clients can invest for the longer term, we are uncompromising in abandoning
those that fail our tests at any stage along the way, not matter how successful
that they may have been. After 35 years of investment analysis and portfolio management,
the only thing I conclude about corporate management is that past success is evidence
of past success. The future starts anew each day.
Finally, I would emphasize our commitment to good and fair client service. All clients,
large and small, receive our analysis simultaneously and we have strict policies
that place our clients' interests first and foremost in our priorities. All clients
must clearly understand why we take the action that we do and therefore be able
to judge us as we judge others. It is this basic philosophy, which has earned Strategic
Analysis it's sterling reputation in the investment industry.
